Pop-Up Viewing Party
2017
Personal Project
Volunteer Park
Seattle, WA

This was originally a summer building project with my child for viewing the solar eclipse.  We built four viewers ranging in size from 2 feet to 12 feet in length. On the day of the eclipse, the early morning clouds obstructed the view from our backyard. After checking the weather radar, a last minute decision was made to pack up the car with the viewers and drive as far south as possible. We found ourselves in our old neighborhood park, Volunteer Park on Capital Hill. Instantly it became a pop-up viewing party where folks were invited to interact with the viewers for this auspicious event.
